1973 Triumph Stag
Very nicely refurbished and quite rare 1973 Triumph Stag. Purchased from its private owner last year, this Triumph Stag was quite a rare car, especially here in the United States with only 1551 imported. Triumph built the Stag in small numbers for a few years to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz pagoda SL. Designed to be a luxury Triumph the car came equipped with a dual carbureted V8 engine, 4 Speed manual transmission, power steering, power assisted brakes, power windows, a cloth convertible top (which is stored on board in a hard top cabinet), Tilt steering and much more. The car is a comfortable 4 seat convertible originally designed and built with a padded T-shaped roll bar for added strength and safety.
This particular car only has 75,000 original miles on it with receipts from the previous owner showing its oil being changed in 2003 with 73,688 miles then on the car. The previous owner had added a nice custom exhaust system, electronic ignition, replaced cloth the convertible top, replaced the battery and had a very nice wooden Nardi custom steering wheel as well as aftermarket rims and tires installed. He also had a professional tuneup and brake work done. When I purchased the vehicle the original seats were starting to show their age both with tears and seat foams in poor condition. I ordered new seat covers and firms for the front and back seats from Rimmer brothers in England to make sure they were the right material. I had the new seat covers professionally installed at a local upholstery shop. During the interior refurbishment a new carpet set was added with new weatherstripping as well as new armrests, sunvisors and a dash top.
The fuel pump was replaced with a new SU unit, the fuel tank was professionally refurbished and resealed, new trunk weatherstripping was added as well as a new carpeted trunk lining kit.
Most recently the car just returned from complete, professional bodywork and paint and it’s original try amp read this was not a cheap job and done very well at a cost of almost $7000.
Overall this is a very nice, unique and rare convertible vehicle rarely seen, especially in this recently refurbished condition. Please feel free to contact me for more photos, video or with any questions and visit my website eurospec.website
